Depart Haridwar for Guptkashi or nearby accommodation.
Day 2
Travel to Gaurikund and ascend to Kedarnath; stay near the shrine if booked.

Day 4
Drive back to Haridwar, allowing additional time for mountain traffic.

Route and how to reach
Haridwar → Rudraprayag → Guptkashi → Sonprayag/Gaurikund → Kedarnath. Gaurikund is the walking roadhead and the commonly cited trek is about 16–18 km, depending on the current route and start point; road transfer time varies substantially.
The usual road journey starts in Haridwar, Rishikesh or Dehradun and continues toward Guptkashi and Sonprayag; the final trek starts beyond the roadhead. Driving and walking times must be treated separately.
